Job Summary

We’re hiring a highly skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to join a true high-precision machine shop. You will be the technical backbone of an incredibly clean, modern shop floor equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, ranging from 5-axis mills to complex Swiss-style lathes.

In this multi-craft role, you will be responsible for ensuring our high-tech equipment runs at peak performance. To be successful, you must have a "fix-anything" mindset and deep, hands-on experience maintaining and repairing advanced CNC machinery. You will troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues—from reading complex schematics and diagnosing servo drives to rebuilding spindles and replacing precision ball screws.

  • 1st Shift: 5:45 AM – 4:15 PM

Responsibilities

  • Advanced CNC Maintenance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on multi-axis CNC milling and turning equipment.
  • Multi-Craft Diagnostics: Quickly isolate root causes by bridging the gap between electrical and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot encoders, servo motors, drives, relays, and sensors.
  • Mechanical Rebuilds: Repair and replace critical machine components, including spindles, ball screws, linear guides, bearings, shafts, clutches, valves, and pumps.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Navigation: Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and layout blueprints to execute repairs and commission equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute rigorous preventative maintenance schedules to maintain the highest operating efficiency possible and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Fabrication & Modification: Utilize basic machines (welder, torches, manual mill, drill press, bandsaw) to fabricate minor machine parts, guards, and tooling required for continuous improvement.
  • Safety & 5S: Strictly utilize proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, adhere to OSHA standards, and champion 5S workflow principles when placing or repairing machinery.
  • Facility Support: Diagnose building issues and occasionally perform minor facility repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to keep the overall plant operating smoothly.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience: Deep, proven experience in CNC machine maintenance. Know your way around the internal mechanics and electronics of modern CNC equipment.
  • Multi-Craft Competency: Strong fundamental knowledge across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to confidently read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Safety-First Mindset: Uncompromising commitment to LOTO and workplace safety.
  • Physical & Dependability: Dependable daily attendance. Ability to stand for long shifts, crouch, reach, and safely operate lifting equipment (cranes, lifts) for moving machinery.

Preferred

  • Advanced Systems: Experience repairing specific high-end machine brands (e.g., DMG Mori, Makino, Mikron, Robodrill).
  • Industry Experience: Background in a high-precision, regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical, ISO 9001).
  • Technology Adoption: Willingness to stay current with new technologies, automation, and advanced quality instruments.
