Position Summary

The EPIC Analyst serves as the primary support contact for assigned Epic application(s) during implementation and ongoing operations. This role coordinates application-level decisions, workflow design, system build, testing, optimization, and issue resolution. The Application Analyst works closely with project leadership, Epic representatives, operational stakeholders, and cross-functional application teams to ensure the system supports organizational workflows, business needs, and project timelines within an integrated Epic environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary support contact for assigned Epic application end users.
  • Coordinate and resolve application-specific and cross-application issues during implementation and post go-live.
  • Guide workflow design, system configuration, build, testing, validation, and optimization activities.
  • Analyze technical and operational issues related to Epic software and develop effective solutions.
  • Act as liaison between operational stakeholders and Epic implementation staff to ensure alignment between system design and business needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives and participate in required project meetings and governance structures.
  • Support change management efforts including system updates, enhancements, and user adoption activities.
  • Participate in Epic training, certification requirements, and ongoing system education.
  • Provide regular project status updates to leadership, including deliverables, milestones, risks, and budget considerations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and organization.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, Clinical Discipline, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • Epic certification in assigned application(s) required within designated timeframe after hire.
  • 2–4 years of experience in healthcare operations, clinical workflow, IT systems, or project coordination preferred.
  • Experience supporting electronic health record systems or healthcare technology initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical, operational, or population health workflows within healthcare organizations preferred.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and operational processes.
  • Ability to learn complex software systems and complete certification requirements.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate across departments
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of dependability, accountability, and initiative.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project needs and timelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general technical aptitude.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or healthcare setting and involves frequent collaboration with clinical, operational, and technical staff.
  • The role involves continuous engagement and interaction with others and may involve occasional or frequent interruptions.
  • Occasional travel may be required between organizational locations for meetings, training, or project support.
  • The work environment reflects typical conditions found in a healthcare organization, including exposure to clinical and administrative workflows.
  • There is potential exposure to common medical practice conditions, including communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and chemical substances when present in clinical areas.
  • Physical demands include walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 20 pounds, stooping, assisting patients, and prolonged periods of sitting.
  • The position may also involve occasional stress due to multiple responsibilities and competing priorities.
