Together, we’re not just preserving and restoring structures—we’re building a legacy of quality, integrity, and purpose.    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to determine the dimensions and materials required for structural framing systems.  Select, cut, and weld steel components to fabricate or repair structural parts, using various welding techniques and metalworking tools.  Erect, install, and connect steel beams, girders, and columns to form building frameworks or other structures.  Inspect and test welds and structures to ensure they meet safety regulations and structural design specifications.  Rig steel components for lifting by cranes and guide their positioning and alignment during installation.  Operate fabricating machines such as shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses.  Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to modify designs and troubleshoot issues on the construction site.  Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, performing regular maintenance as needed.  Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries and accidents on the job site.  Coordinate with construction management teams and other trade workers to ensure timely progression of building projects.  Use leveling and surveying equipment to ensure structures are erected plumb and level.  Perform cutting, bending, and threading of pipes and structural steel.  Keep accurate records of materials used, hours worked, and activities  Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent  Vocational training or apprenticeship in welding or structural steelwork preferred  Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and erection  Proficient in welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural design drawings  Familiarity with structural steel materials and their properties  Knowledge of industry safety standards and OSHA regulations  Competency in operating cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery used in steel construction  Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and stand for long periods  Precise hand-eye coordination and dexterity for handling tools and materials  Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other trades and project team members  Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions  Problem-solving skills to address challenges during construction  Attention to detail for quality assurance and control  Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by project deadlines  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation  Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining any required trade licenses or certifications  Required to travel frequently   Huseman Group is an EOE/M/F/D/V - Alcohol- and Drug-Free Workplace  Huseman Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains an Alcohol- and Drug-Free Workplace. We comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, age, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, or any other status protected by law.
