POSITION TITLE:                          Room Attendant

REPORTS TO:                                  Shift Manager, Sunrise Hotel; Shift Supervisor, Housekeeping

SUPERVISES:                                    N/A

 

JOB SUMMARY:                               

The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hotel guestrooms. Their duties must be performed promptly and thoroughly, ensuring that the Caesars Standards of Operation are upheld at all times.

 

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans guest rooms and guest areas, including making beds, dusting and vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, replacing supplies, cleaning windows, mirrors, and patios

  • Utilizes chemicals according to directions and familiarizes self with all material safety data sheets

  • Maintains a stocked, organized, and clean cart with sufficient supplies

  • Reports maintenance issues through appropriate channels for resolution

  • Documents and secures lost and found items

  • Communicates with guests in a professional and friendly manner

  • Assists Housepersons, including delivering guest requests and picking up used guest items

  • Conserves energy by closing shades and draperies and turning down air conditioning and heat of unoccupied rooms

  • Reports hazardous conditions in the work area or equipment to Hotel Housekeeping leadership

  • Utilize the housekeeping tracking system to update room status, assignments, and progress in an efficient and timely manner

  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred

  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

  • Must be able to operate a handheld device

  • A friendly, upbeat, outgoing personality is an essential requirement

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-starter: must work without close supervision, be quick, accurate, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  • *Must be able to clean a standard vacant room in 30 minutes or less

  • *Not required at time of hire; may be learned in the probationary period agreed upon at time of hire

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, grip items, work in small, shared spaces, and walk and stand for long periods

  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues and read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry 5 pounds

  • Must be able to work around dogs/pets

  • Must be able to operate equipment including, but not limited to, vacuum cleaner, mop, and broom, and work with various cleaning chemicals without issue

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
