Nurse Intern, Full-time, ED, EWCH, Murphy, NC

Job Summary:
Nurse Intern assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the team and or/unit.

Education:
Required:
High school graduate or GED required.
Planned graduation from a state approved nursing program within three months of hire
De-escalation training

Preferred:
Current Nursing Assistant I Certification listed with the NC Department of Division of Facility Services Nurse Aide Registry.

Experience:
Required:
Basic computer knowledge.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Good organizational and planning ability.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Preferred:
Additional languages desired.
New RN with less than one-year experience

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
Schedules NCLEX exam as soon as eligible
Passes NCLEX exam within sixteen weeks of hire

Preferred:
Current Nursing Assistant I Certification listed with the NC Department of Division of Facility Services Nurse Aide Registry.

Note: This position is designed for new Grads from a state approved Nursing Program but New RNs with less than one year of experience may be accepted.
