Job Title:  Infection Prevention Associate

Department:  Unity Hospital

Location: 1555 Long Pond Rd. Rochester, NY 14626

Hours Per Week:  40

Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

SUMMARY:

The Infection Prevention Associate (IP-A) supports the RRH Infection Prevention staff in developing and implementing the infection prevention program for the assigned organization and/or business area(s). Duties will be assigned as necessary to help meet the department's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Environment of care rounds.
  • Review of sterilization and disinfection practices.
  • New practice site visits and data collection for assigning risk assessment scores.
  • Participation in Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) reviews.
  • Under direction of Infection Preventionist, provide education and in-services to staff.
  • Under direction of Infection Preventionist leader, monitors and evaluates patient care activities to identify methods, techniques, equipment, supplies, new products or specific procedures which may constitute an infection risk.
  • Assists with investigations of clusters of infection in collaboration with a lead Infection Preventionist.
  • Participates in infection prevention policy development, review, and revision using current standards of practice.
  • Participates in development and provision of in-service programs related to Infection Prevention for the organization in collaboration with lead Infection Preventionist.
  • Supports educational activities for Infection Prevention liaison committees.
  • Participates in assigned organization-based committees as appropriate.
  •  Monitors and evaluates patient care activities to identify methods, techniques, equipment, supplies, new products or specific procedures which may constitute an infection risk.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or other health related field required.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
