Process Engineer II (Formulations South)

 

Focuses on optimizing and advancing process technologies within production facilities, leading engineering efforts to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability; By collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensures that processes are compliant with industry standards and continuously improved to meet operational goals.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Process Engineer II (Formulation South,) are to:

 

  • Provide day-to-day tactical direction, apply technical skills, maintain operations, and resolve routine issues to ensure safe, efficient, productive, and environmentally sound manufacture of active ingredients or intermediates;
  • Assist plant management and operations personnel in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability, making tactical decisions based on plant knowledge;
  • Coordinate with corporate and site production planners on production timing and raw material availability
  • Development and tracking of key performance indicators;
  • Participate in investigations of area performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions;
  • Serve as process expert or plant representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects, interfacing technical professionals from other disciplines (e.g., PCT, project engineering, environmental and utility services operations, and process development);
  • Maintain and develop standards for area operating documentation (e.g., standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval);
  • Collaborate on design and execute plant trials directed at enhancing area performance, proposing designs based on plant knowledge;
  • Compile, format, and submit environmental data necessary for timely and accurate filing with local, state, and federal agencies;
  • Engage in continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching and constructive feedback and support Site and Area Production System improvements (e.g., OnePSS).

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. with 2 years or M.S. engineering experience, preferably in a plant operation function;
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, capacity, and reliability;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate performance issues and implement sound technical solutions;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with plant management, operations personnel, and cross-functional technical teams;
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining operating procedures and technical records;
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and constructive feedback;
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement in a production environment.

 

Posting will be available until July 5, 2026

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $76,954.40 - $115,431.60. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
