Trinity Muscatine is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. Utilizing the nursing process, the OR RN coordinates and implements patient care within the operating room under the direction of the OR Lead Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services. This role performs work of considerable difficulty and plays a vital part in delivering high-quality surgical care while supporting our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competence in the skills, (critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical) necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below. Demonstrated competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility. 
  • Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations.
  • Consistently conforms to high standards of practice.
  • Maintains ongoing assessment following established practice guidelines that accurately reflects patient status. 
  • Documents nursing assessment clearly and concisely. 
  • Notifies physician of pertinent changes in patient status.  
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or issues. 
  • Updates, adds or deletes issues/problems as patient condition changes. 
  • Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.

Qualifications

 

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

 

Valid RN License in the State of Iowa

BCLS

ACLS (within 90 days)
