Job Title: Controls Engineer Â

Job Summary:Â
 Â
The Controls Engineer works in cooperation with all departments applying knowledge in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic field. Works under limited supervision.Â
 Â
Responsibility:Â
- Â Troubleshoots robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor / feedback systems, hydraulics, and pneumaticsÂ
- Monitors the operation during the shift and reports the correct data at the end of the shift
- Â Responds in case of a problem, ensures that all necessary measures are taken, and informs the support groupsÂ
- Troubleshoots robotic systems using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor / feedback systems, hydraulics, and pneumaticsÂ
- Tests performance of robots and end of arm toolingÂ
- Installs, programs, and repairs programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, and conveyorsÂ
- Maintains new robotic systems and PLC programsÂ
- Modifies computer-controlled robot movementsÂ
- Documents robotics test procedures and resultsÂ
- Maintains equipment to ensure machines produce quality partsÂ
- Performs preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems and automated material handling systems or componentsÂ
- Participates in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot faults and perform root cause analysis to resolve problems related to device performance and failure ratesÂ
- Assists in the implementation of continuous improvement activities, including optimization of existing programsÂ
- Applies the principles of Lean Manufacturing and other problem-solving disciplines while participating in failure and root cause analyses, and lead the efforts to resolve equipment capability and failure rate problemsÂ
- Develops rapid repair and substitution techniques to minimize any loss in capacityÂ
- Performs additional duties as requiredÂ

Academic/Educational Requirements:Â
- Â High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
- Associate degree from a vocational school or college with focus in Robotics, Mechanical or Electrical fieldsÂ
- Minimum 1 year of related experienceÂ
Required Skills/Experience:Â

Competence in related IT applicationsÂ

Siemens PLC and/or ABB Robotics experience preferredÂ

Ability to communicate effectivelyÂ
