Production Technician II

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Set up and run a saw, grind, roll threads, chamfer, machine, straighten, and polish using machinery or hand-held power tools on a variety of metal bar stock. Supply heat treat samples for approval to quality department. Inspect parts using various checking tools and instruments.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Verify quality of finished parts by performing inspections. In accordance with issued work instructions
  • Move controls to stop or start equipment
  • Remove completed material
  • Measure and mark material
  • Transfer materials or parts to specified work areas using material handling equipment
  • Deburr materials and parts using files or powered hand-tools
  • Maintain necessary record keeping related to quality inspections and task completion
  • Perform necessary preventative maintenance and occasional mechanical repair on equipment
  • Ability to ascertain when tooling is ready to be replaced
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow safety protocols
  • Perform other tasks as prescribed by team lead
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
  • Ability to train others
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn other jobs and be cross trained
