Position Summary: The Driver is responsible for the efficient and timely pick-up and delivery of donated items.
Â
Essential Responsibilities:
- Picks up, unloads, and delivers donations.
- Provides excellent customer service with donors.
- Maintains cleanliness of van and ensures it is fueled, reporting any damage and maintenance needs to corps officer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- During the Christmas Season (November & December), work increased hours (4-5 hrs daily) driving a Kettle Route.
Qualifications:
Â
Education/Experience:Â
- High School diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Experience operating a motorized vehicle.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:Â
- Knowledge of roadways within the community and the location of various donation sites.
Â
Certificates and Licenses:Â
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
- Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur’s license with a chauffeur’s endorsement and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) or gain the chauffeur’s endorsement within 30 days of hire.
