Requirements
What You'll Do
- Plan and deliver engaging math lessons aligned to state standards, with clear objectives and high expectations.
- Create a supportive, orderly classroom where every student can thrive, both on-site and off-site.
- Use data and assessments to guide instruction and drive high standards of achievement for all students.
- Differentiate instruction for individuals and groups, reflecting the full range of student abilities and needs.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and collaborate with staff to improve student learning.
- Bring real-world relevance to the classroom, helping students apply what they learn to solve real problems.
- Adapt and enrich the curriculum with technology and creative strategies that keep students engaged.
- Provide opportunities for student growth outside the classroom, such as student organizations, physical activities, and service learning.
- Keep accurate, confidential student records, including grades, attendance, and behavior.
- Take part in the school community attending meetings and contributing to school-wide decisions on policies, programs, and teaching practices.
What You'll Need
- Valid Active Teacher License issued by the State, in the appropriate subject area (A substitute license does not meet this requirement.
- Bachelor's degree in Education.
- A passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Comfort using technology to support and engage students.
- Bonus: experience with coding or computer science.
