POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for leading Safety & Health compliance across multiple warehouse locations, with a strong emphasis on on‑site auditing, Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety programs, and field‑based compliance execution. This role identifies, evaluates, and manages safety that present unacceptable risk related to personal injury, accidents, property damage, and regulatory penalties. The position serves as a primary contact for Safety & Health related matters, partnering directly with operations leaders to conduct audits, verify compliance, and drive corrective actions across a multi‑site operating environment.This role will travel up to 75% and is eligible for our mileage reimbursement program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Safety & Health across assigned warehouse and distribution locations
- Conduct frequent on‑site safety, PIT, and DOT audits to verify compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company requirements
- Lead and support Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety programs, including certification audits, retraining requirements, and corrective actions
- Drive timely completion of corrective actions resulting from audits, DOT findings, near‑miss incidents, injury investigations, and identified hazards
- Partner with operations leaders to implement and sustain safety, PIT, and compliance programs in warehouse environments
- Design and deliver Safety & Health training to leaders and associates across multiple sites
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all Safety & Health records, permits, and required documentation
- Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures and support implementation across divisions
- Coordinate occupational health monitoring activities (respiratory, noise, chemical exposure)
- Manage and support workers’ compensation, liability, and property claim activities
- Partner with insurance carriers and brokers on audits, service instructions, and loss‑control recommendations
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in safety with 3-5 years Industrial/Occupational Safety & Health and DOT experience or Associates or Technical degree with 5-8 years Industrial/Occupational Safety & Health and DOT experience
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferred
Hands-on experience with safety audits in multi-site warehouse, distribution, or industrial environments
Direct experience supporting or auditing Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) programs
Extensive knowledge of Safety & Health laws, regulations and standards on the Local, State and Federal levels
Working knowledge of workers’ compensation and transportation laws, regulations and standards on the Local, State and Federal levels
Working knowledge of fire protection/prevention codes and standards and industrial hygiene fundamentals
Ability to communicate with all levels from frontline through senior management to develop program support
Aptitude to work within government/regulatory guidelines and with agency personnel
Ability to identify, appraise and analyze loss producing conditions and practices
Proactive in designing and developing appropriate safety and risk related programs and policies
Capable of team-oriented problem solving
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint
Honest, open, trusting-building professional that stimulates cooperation and communication between associates and management
Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
Ability to travel to different location of U.S. Venture required
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (do not test for THC / marijuana)
The annual base salary for this position starts at a minimum of $85,000. U.S. Venture's compensation range is specific to location and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base annual salary only, and do not include bonus or incentives, if applicable.
