Packing Cluster Lead/Packaging Manager  

  

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

   

  • Lead all operations activities for packaging end-to-end (E2E) core operations within assigned cluster(s). 

  • Lead multi-skilled employees to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective production operations, including all shifts within cluster(s) team and being the point of contact during off-shift operation at the Myerstown site. 

  • Work with a multidisciplinary dynamic team and is accountable for E2E (end-to-end) ownership tactically and strategically for all or packaging processes. 

  • Responsible for ensuring manufacturing and/or packaging process optimization, driving operational efficiencies, best practices, innovation / new technologies, and continuous production process improvement to ensure seamless operations and adherence to industry regulations. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Core Operations, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, CoE solid dose hub, Engineering, Facilities and SSHE, Manufacturing IT, and Quality functions teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and value creation.  

  • Ensure adherence to the cost center budget and is responsible for performance management, safety, compliance, schedule attainment and customer service within the area of responsibility.  

  • Supervise non-exempt, hourly employees. 

  • The role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a focus on driving innovation, cost efficiency, and digitalization. 

  • Provide strong leadership, coaching and development for high-performing, autonomous teams with a culture based on the Bayer Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles. 

  • Embrace DSO principles and practices and follows the VACC approach to leadership (being a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach).  

  • Actively evolve the site operating model and fosters successful adoption of DSO 

 

 

WHO YOU ARE 

  

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

  

Required Qualifications: 

  

  • Bachelor's degree with multi-functional experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operation Excellence. 

  • 6+ years of leadership/production/supervisory experience in FDA, pharmaceutical industry  

  • Multifunctional and deep experience of complex manufacturing, packaging or supply chain management in the consumer and/or pharmaceutical industry. 

  • Thorough knowledge of solid dosage & liquid manufacturing and packaging operations. 

  • Experience in successful organizational transformation and change management initiatives. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making 

  • Exceptional people leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners to concisely influence executive leadership peers. 

  • Leading with purpose, driving inclusion, respecting differences, and showing up as authentic best self 

  • Demonstrated experience in operations E2E innovation solutions leveraging analytics and digitization with continuous improvement mindset. 

  • Demonstrate a high level of urgency and adapts to changing priorities.  

  • Ability to resolve conflicts positively using appropriate interpersonal skills and provide constructive feedback to direct reports and peer groups. 

  • Apply VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) leadership behaviors and approach.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $84,880 - $127,320. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
