The Residence Inn Myrtle Beach Oceanfront, is hiring for part-time Food Runners. The persons hired for these positions will need the flexibility to work 11a-4p and/or 4p-10p shift; weekday and weekend availability is required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The responsibilities and duties of a Food Runner center around their ability to deliver food correctly to the customers who ordered it.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Picks up food product for orders placed by the service staff and delivers the meal to our guests.
Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our guests dining experience.
Sets up the front line with the equipment, plateware, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products.
Keeps station restocked throughout the shift.
Reads order tickets as they arrive and place onto ticket minder.
Tracks cooking times on all orders, checks finished product for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation.
Garnishes finished entrees according to house specifications and procedures.
Assists the server as needed to optimize the guest’s dining experience.
Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty.
Correctly completes closing duties at the end of each shift.
Assists Chef and other kitchen personnel in accomplishing closing duties and kitchen cleanliness.
Completes all side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the members of the management team.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous Food Runner experience is preferred
Previous food service experience is required
Ability to obtain ServSafe certification
Able to lift up to 35 lbs and continuously stand, bend, reach and twist; you’re constantly on the move!
Flexibility to work any required hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as team player with all levels of hotel staff
Excellent guest relations skills and high judgment
High ethical standards of conduct

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must possess manual dexterity, must be able to stand for long periods of time, frequently walk and climb stairs, have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, and operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Working knowledge of the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
