Symbiotic Services is seeking a BIM Factory Coordinator on behalf of an innovative organization focused on addressing the affordable housing crisis through advanced construction methods and highly coordinated BIM workflows. This role supports a production-focused environment where constructability and precision modeling are essential to successful factory manufacturing.

The BIM Factory Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining accurate BIM models and shop drawings that directly support factory production. This role ensures seamless coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP systems—bridging the gap between design intent and manufacturable reality.

Working closely with factory personnel, engineers, and BIM leadership, this position resolves conflicts, supports fast-track problem solving, and ensures models are production-ready. The role requires strong technical modeling skills, clear communication, and a practical understanding of construction and modular workflows.

Work Schedule & Shift

This position operates on a dedicated 3-day factory production schedule aligned with active manufacturing.

  • Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

  • Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (12-hour shifts)

  • Total: 36 hours per week

This is an on-site role during active factory production. The BIM Factory Coordinator must be present and engaged to provide real-time coordination and issue resolution when production is underway.

Candidates should be comfortable with a weekend-focused schedule and compressed workweek. Occasional flexibility outside scheduled hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam

  • Coordinate HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems

  • Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents

  • Identify and resolve clashes prior to factory production

Factory Support & Problem Solving

  • Provide real-time support during factory production

  • Adapt models to accommodate fast-track production needs

  • Translate factory feedback into model updates

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Review models and shop drawings for accuracy and constructability

  • Maintain BIM standards, documentation, and coordination workflows

Communication & Training

  • Coordinate with both field and office teams

  • Assist with training on BIM standards and workflows

  • Provide and receive constructive feedback within the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Revit experience

  • 2+ years of 3D modeling experience

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam

  • Ability to coordinate MEP and structural systems

  • Strong understanding of construction documents

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in construction or modular manufacturing

  • Experience supporting factory or prefabrication workflows

  • Experience developing BIM documentation or training materials

Compensation

$65,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position also includes a comprehensive benefits package and is structured as a full-time compressed workweek role.
