Substitute High School Teacher

We're seeking dependable, flexible, and student-centered Substitute Teachers to support our educational team on an as-needed basis. Our Ideal Candidate Will:

Substitute Teaching

• Provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the assigned teacher.
• Ensure accountability for student assignments and work completion.
• Monitor and record student attendance.
• Communicate with students and parents as needed.
• Provide updates and communicate with the teacher of record upon their return.
• Grade student assignments as directed.
• Communicate weekly availability and schedule with supervisors.

General Support 

• Provide instructional support to center teaching staff as needed.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding center needs and assignments.
• Assist with grading and other instructional tasks.
• Support center organization and day-to-day operations.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the staffing needs of one or more learning centers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, students/parents, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
• Strong organizational and proofreading skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to follow up on task commitments and give updates as needed
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism 
• Ability to travel to other locations as needed

• Ability to make decisions, exercising reasonable independent judgment and discretion with minimal guidance and/or supervision

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with youth, students, or in an educational setting preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Additional Information:

• Part-Time | As Needed
• Monday-Friday
• Typical hours between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
• Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
