Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager and the Concession Shift Lead, the Concession Grill Cook is responsible for all day-to-day frontline food preparation and cooking at the Centennial Grill. This includes grilling, frying, cleaning & maintaining cooking equipment, sanitation, food & refrigeration temperature checks, and dish duty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cook food using the recipes provided by the Food & Beverage Manager.
Follow sanitary practices for food handling, cooking, and general cleaning of the facility.
Respond to customer needs in a timely fashion.
Inspect, inventory, and initiate requests for purchases and repairs of equipment and supplies to the Concession Shift Lead.
Maintain a safe, clean, and friendly environment for coworkers and customers.
Respond appropriately to emergency procedures.
Demonstrate and support District customer service standards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to operate kitchen machinery and tools.

Education and Experience:

Minimum one (1) year of experience in food operations or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Illinois Food Handler's Certification within one (1) month of hire.

Special Considerations:

Must be at least 16 years old.
Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
Subject to modified/flexible work schedules.
Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing ≤ 30 lbs on a daily Lifting assistance is required when lifting > 30 lbs.
Subject to modified/flexible work schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Exposure to heat from appliances, smoke, steam, cleaning chemicals, food, and odors.
Prolonged lifting, stooping, bending, twisting, standing, and climbing.
Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.
