About the Role:

The Dental Clinical Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and high-quality delivery of dental clinical services within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for coordinating patient care activities, managing clinical schedules, and facilitating communication between dental professionals, patients, and administrative staff. The coordinator ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and dental practice standards while optimizing clinical workflows to enhance patient experience and treatment outcomes. By overseeing clinical documentation and assisting in quality improvement initiatives, the role supports both clinical staff and organizational goals. Ultimately, the Dental Clinical Coordinator contributes to creating an efficient, patient-centered environment that promotes oral health and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a dental clinical environment with exposure to clinical coordination or administrative duties.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and infection control standards.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and dental practice management software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Dental Practice Management or Clinical Coordination.
  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing processes and patient financial counseling.
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.
  • Coronal Polish and Nitrous Certified. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily clinical operations including patient scheduling, treatment planning, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison between dentists, hygienists, assistants, and administrative personnel to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements within the dental clinic.
  • Manage patient records and clinical documentation accurately, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new clinical staff, and support ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Facilitate patient education by providing information on treatment plans, oral hygiene practices, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement projects to enhance clinical outcomes and operational effectiveness.

The Dental Clinical Coordinator utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage complex scheduling and coordinate multiple clinical activities efficiently. Effective communication skills are essential for liaising between clinical staff and patients, ensuring clarity and understanding in treatment plans and care instructions. Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records enables accurate documentation and streamlined administrative processes.
