Overview 

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is seeking a full-time Gift Shop & Parish Office Assistant Associate. This position provides administration support for all aspects of the St. John the Evangelist Gift Shop and works closely with other departments to ensure that the Gift Shop aligns with the Church calendar and provides an enjoyable experience for parishioners as well as assisting with any needed Parish office administrative duties. 

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a full retail sales environment, including customer service, payment processing, buying, merchandising, and shop upkeep
• Recruit, train, and work with volunteers in the Shop. Ensure that all volunteers are Safe Environment compliant
• Supports the Parish Office, to include funeral and baptism intakes and scheduling, answering phones, and assisting parishioners and visitors
• Supports the Operations Manager with the management of the Safe Environment Program
• Other duties as assigned. 

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelors degree preferred. 
• Computer proficiency, with POS experience desirable.
• Proficiency in web-based applications for data entry and management.
• Organizational and creativity skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in the retail industry preferred. 
• Experience working in a Catholic Church environment preferred.
