Job Description Summary:

<h2><b>Overview</b></h2><div><div><div><p>Responsible for the operation of the hospital physical plant during a scheduled tour of duty to include preventative maintenance of HVAC system, refrigeration equipment, and other equipment, and perform the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment systems. Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, responsible for ensuring all functioning equipment, systems, and alarms are performing efficiently and effectively 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.</p></div></div></div>

Responsibilities

Performs corrective, emergency, and preventative maintenance on hospital buildings and all hospital equipment.
Is alert to needed maintenance and initiates action on or consults Maintenance Manager.
Maintains and evaluates operating logs on equipment where applicable.
Assists in maintaining records to ensure compliance with regulator authority.
Installs and tests all new equipment.
Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
Repairs refrigeration and electrical equipment as needed.
Adds necessary chemicals to treat boiler and chiller waters to prevent deposits.
Is alert to any problems involving the security of buildings and grounds.
Performs routine inspections.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Ability to read, write, perform mathematical calculations, and follow technical electrical and refrigeration procedures as normally acquired through completion of a Vo-Tech program or five (5) years related experience. Skills for providing Technical Services in areas where we provide care to adult, geriatric, adolescent, pediatric patients.  
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: Electrical and Refrigeration license.  
EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures and refrigeration and electrical systems as acquired through the acquisition of Electrical and Refrigeration License.
