Primary Objective of Position:Ā CAD Designers process orders for 2D & 3D content from Product Designers. They create and update 3D models and 2D prints, incorporate model year changes, and deliver release ready content to support manufacturing, vendors, and service.
Ā Key Areas of Responsibility
- Create/modify models and drawings from engineering build orders, sketches, redlines, and markāups.
- Implement ECR/ECN/ Fast Track changes and propagate to affected items.
- Adhere to drafting standards; propose improvements to templates and methods.
- Consult with Engineers for clarifications, coordinate with Lead Designers on scope and sequencing.
- Interface with the Offshore Team by preparing clear modeling packages and reviewing returns.
Ā Key AttributesĀ
- Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drafting, with strong understanding of production standards.Ā
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems for EBOM updates and release workflows.Ā
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Effective communicator who can work with Lead Designers, Engineers, Manufacturing, and Offshore teams.
- Good technical understanding of components used in an RV product
- Skill to read and interpret documents related to safety, operations, maintenance, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret engineering intent and apply standards consistently.Ā
Ā Education & Experience
- Associateās in Mechanical Design or Drafting Technology or relevant equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive, heavy truck, or RV industry.
- Experience with PLM systems.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, design for manufacturability, and vehicle packaging.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
