Primary Objective of Position:Ā CAD Designers process orders for 2D & 3D content from Product Designers. They create and update 3D models and 2D prints, incorporate model year changes, and deliver release ready content to support manufacturing, vendors, and service.

Ā Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Create/modify models and drawings from engineering build orders, sketches, redlines, and mark‑ups.
  • Implement ECR/ECN/ Fast Track changes and propagate to affected items.
  • Adhere to drafting standards; propose improvements to templates and methods.
  • Consult with Engineers for clarifications, coordinate with Lead Designers on scope and sequencing.
  • Interface with the Offshore Team by preparing clear modeling packages and reviewing returns.

Ā Key AttributesĀ 

  • Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drafting, with strong understanding of production standards.Ā 
  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems for EBOM updates and release workflows.Ā 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Effective communicator who can work with Lead Designers, Engineers, Manufacturing, and Offshore teams.
  • Good technical understanding of components used in an RV product
  • Skill to read and interpret documents related to safety, operations, maintenance, and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret engineering intent and apply standards consistently.Ā 

Ā Education & Experience

  • Associate’s in Mechanical Design or Drafting Technology or relevant equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive, heavy truck, or RV industry.
  • Experience with PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, design for manufacturability, and vehicle packaging.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
