Job Summary:

The Associate, Outsourced Finance & Accounting is responsible for performing general accounting functions for small to mid-size organizations.

Job Duties:

  • Prepares and processes accounts payable invoices
  • Processes accounts receivable transactions
  • Processes general ledger reconciliation (cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets)
  • Assists with basic financial statement preparation and account reconciliations
  • Participates in basic audit preparation
  • Performs basic payroll processing
  • Completes all appropriate data entry within client financial systems
  • Interacts with client staff to gain information, documents, and data necessary to complete assigned tasks
  • Communicates significant client issues to supervisor
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • GED, required
  • Associate’s degree, preferred

Experience:

  • Internship / work study or one (1) year of experience performing general accounting transactions and functions, preferred

License/Certifications:

  • N/A

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, required 
  • Experience utilizing industry standard accounting software such as Great Plains, Peachtree, QuickBooks and/or Solomon, required

Language:

  • N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and basic research skills 
  • Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Able to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm 
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, finance, tax, and investment principles
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
