info
  • We are seeking a Controller to manage our financial operations as we scale, requiring 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a Controller or senior leadership role.
  • This hands-on leadership position involves overseeing a small team, managing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • The role is hybrid, based in Nashville, and offers a salary range of $130,000-150,000, along with an annual bonus opportunity.
  • Ideal candidates should have experience in a growth-stage SaaS or technology company and be proficient in modern accounting systems.
  • The Controller will play a crucial role in building financial infrastructure and supporting the company's mission to enhance operational efficiency.

We're looking for a Controller to own our financial operations as we scale. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a high-ownership environment -- someone who can create the financial structure, close the books, build the right controls, and also sit in a room with the CEO and translate the numbers into decisions. You'll oversee a small but capable team and work closely with our external bookkeeping and accounting partners to keep everything running cleanly.

This role is right for someone who has done this before at a growth-stage company and knows what good looks like -- and who wants room to actually build it.

This is a hybrid position (4 days in office, 1 day remote) in Nashville. The salary range is $130,000-150,000, based on experience, plus an annual bonus opportunity.

What You’ll Do

  • Month-end and year-end close -- own the full process, top to bottom
  • General ledger oversight and integrity
  • Financial reporting for internal leadership and any external stakeholders
  • Budget vs. actuals analysis with meaningful commentary
  • Internal controls design and compliance
  • Audit preparation and external auditor coordination
  • Tax coordination with outside advisors
  • AR/AP team leadership (team of 2 + external bookkeeping firm)
  • Deferred revenue and revenue recognition
  • Investor relations with external capital providers for finance and tax related items

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2-3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role. CPA preferred, or strong desire to achieve soon.
  • Experience at a growth-stage SaaS or technology company, required
  • Solid understanding of deferred revenue and revenue recognition (ASC 606), required
  • Proficient in modern accounting systems and experiencing leading an accounting system migration, a plus. ( ex. QBO, Ramp, Salesforce, Stripe, Sage, NetSuite)
  • Proven experience managing close processes and building controls infrastructure
  • Comfortable managing a small team and external partners
  • Strong judgment -- knows when to escalate and when to just get it done
  • Excel fluency; comfort with financial modeling and variance analysis
  • Experience in healthcare technology or transportation/logistics software is a plus.
