The Benefits Assistant provides transactional, administrative and technical support to maintain benefits data in the firm’s HR information system (HRIS), acts as an operational resource to employees, and provides support for the implementation and administration of the firm’s employee benefit programs. Under the direction of the Firmwide Benefits Director and Sr. Benefits Administrator, the Benefits Assistant will help administer employee benefit programs to align with the Firm goals and emerging legislative changes.
Representative Key Responsibilities
Processing and auditing all benefit transactions
Administering Firm’s policies on partner and employee leaves of absence
Assisting employees on benefits-related issues for medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance programs, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts and retirement benefits and help promote work/life balance programs
Processing monthly benefit plan invoices
Responding to inquiries directed to the benefits mailbox
Assisting with retroactive benefit deductions and other special deductions
Providing administrative and technical support for open enrollment
Assisting with gathering data for benefit surveys
Assisting with maintenance of benefits content on the firm’s benefit portal
Required Education, Knowledge and Experience
3+ years’ experience administering employee benefit and/or wellbeing programs
General knowledge of FMLA and pertinent federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits.
Required Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience using Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
Technical expertise, with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
Commitment to client service and professionalism
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously and deadlines
Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater
Ability to grasp, lift or carry packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 75 lbs.
Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand or sit for an extended period of time
The Compensation range for this role is up to 30.00 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
