Rogers Group, INC. is seeking an individual to fill our open position as a FLOATING TRACK DRILL OPERATOR. This role is based out of our corporate drilling organization and will operate throughout regions of Tennessee and Georgia. The Track Drill Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining track-mounted drilling equipment used in quarry production and blasting operations like an Epiroc D60 or similar. This position will report to the Director of Drilling Operations.  This position performs drilling activities according to established quarry plans, ensures proper hole placement and depth, conducts equipment inspections, and works closely with quarry management, blasting contractors, and production personnel to support efficient aggregate production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uncompromising dedication to safe work practices
  • Experience operating a track drill, like an Epiroc D60 or similar preferred
  • Verify drilling locations, patterns, depths, and burden requirements prior to drilling operations.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of drill equipment and report deficiencies.
  • Monitor drill performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient drilling.
  • Maintain drill logs, production records, and daily activity reports.
  • Assist with blast site preparation and coordination with blasting personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs on drilling equipment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, wear conditions, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain work areas and benches in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, MSHA regulations, and blasting safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, mechanics, and production personnel regarding drilling activities and equipment status.
  • Operate track-mounted drilling equipment to drill production and presplit blast holes in accordance with quarry plans and specifications.
