Internship Title:
| Administrative Assistant Intern |
Internship Description/Learning Objectives:
| The Administrative Assistant Intern will support The Ayin Project’s operations with a focus on assisting in the coordination and administration of the Summer High School Internships in Research Experiences (SHIRE) program. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit administration, event coordination, and professional communication. Interns will develop skills in office administration, project coordination, professional email communication, and database management – while contributing to impactful initiatives The Ayin Project is working both locally and abroad. By the end of the internship, interns will: ● Develop proficiency in office organization, scheduling, and professional communication. ● Gain experience in nonprofit operations, particularly in program coordination. ● Enhance problem-solving, teamwork, and time management skills. ● Learn to manage and analyze data for reporting and strategic planning. ● Participate in an outreach/community service event. |
Job Duties:
| Responsibilities: ● Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, and email correspondence. ● Assist with data entry, document organization, and file management. ● Prepare reports, presentations, and donor outreach materials. ● Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and internship activities, with a focus on SHIRE. ● Maintain contact lists and assist with communication with SHIRE participants and stakeholders. ● Support social media team and digital content organization related to SHIRE. ● Assist in tracking participant progress and organizing internship-related resources. ● Engage positively and professionally with TAP personnel, interns, and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative work environment. |
Preferred Competencies:
| Education: ● Rising High School Junior, Senior, or recent High School Graduate Professional Competencies: ● Strong organizational and time- management skills. ● Effective written and verbal communication abilities. ● Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. ● Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace. ● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. ● Interest in nonprofit work, internship program management, and research initiatives. ● Ability to be mentally flexible and carry a positive attitude. |

Work Schedule Days and Hours:
| Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 3:00pm (1 Hour Unpaid Lunch Break) |

The full program is June 1st – July 17th
June 1st – June 3rd: Interns attend work readiness skills training from 8am – 12pm.
June 4th: Attend employer orientation meeting.
June 5th: POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport
June 8th – July 17th: Youth will report to their employer worksite location on Monday –
Thursday or special schedule workday at the time
scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work 6.5 hours daily
which equals 24 hours per week.
Friday Cohorts: Youth report to cohort sessions at assigned locations at 8:00am to
12:00noon on Fridays.
July 17th: POWER Youth Summer Employment Program.
If you are selected as a High School Intern, you will make $15.00 an hour and receive pre-program training and coaching to ensure you have the skills you need on the job. Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to all orientation, training, worksite, and cohort times. Please consider your transportation needs prior to applying for the High School Internship program.
