Internship Description/Learning Objectives:
| The Ayin Project (TAP) is seeking motivated and creative high school students for our Summer Media Internship. This hands-on opportunity allows the intern to gain valuable experience in media production while contributing to meaningful projects that highlight TAP’s initiatives. Job Duties:
| Responsibilities: ● Collaborate on media projects related to TAP’s Summer High School Internships Research Experience (SHIRE) and the ongoing work of TAP’s Water Research and Development team in Uganda. ● Content Creation: Develop engaging photo and video content for TAP’s social media platforms, highlighting the organization’s mission and programs. Develop skills in photography, videography, media editing, and content creation. ● Project Work: Complete two primary projects: 1. A video documenting the SHIRE internship program. 2. A video highlighting TAP’s overall mission, suitable for social media or organizational publications. ● Media Editing: Learn and apply basic editing software skills to produce polished final projects. ● Team Collaboration: Work both independently and collaboratively with TAP personnel and fellow interns. ● Portfolio Building: Receive training on creating a personal media portfolio featuring work produced during the internship. |
Preferred Competencies:
| Qualifications: Education: ● Rising High School Juniors, Seniors, or recent High School Graduates Skillset: ● Strong interest in media production, storytelling, and creative communication. ● Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn photography, videography, and editing software. ● Familiarity with (or ability to quickly learn) Google Suite for collaboration. Professional Traits: ● Strong Organizational and time- management skills. ● Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team. ● Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges. ● Ability to mentally be flexible and carry a positive attitude.
This position involves engaging with peers and professionals, encouraging and inviting them to share their work, experiences, and perspectives. Interns will be responsible for fostering positive open communication and collaboration while working on media projects. |

The full program is June 1st – July 17th
June 1st – June 3rd: Interns attend work readiness skills training from 8am – 12pm.
June 4th: Attend employer orientation meeting.
June 5th: POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport
June 8th – July 17th: Youth will report to their employer worksite location on Monday –
Thursday or special schedule workday at the time
scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work 6.5 hours daily
which equals 24 hours per week.
Friday Cohorts: Youth report to cohort sessions at assigned locations at 8:00am to
12:00noon on Fridays.
July 17th: POWER Youth Summer Employment Program.
If you are selected as a High School Intern, you will make $15.00 an hour and receive pre-program training and coaching to ensure you have the skills you need on the job. Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to all orientation, training, worksite, and cohort times. Please consider your transportation needs prior to applying for the High School Internship program. There are opportunities to intern in many areas of Nashville, so please select the opportunity based on your access to transportation.
