ForTheVeteran is hiring a Junior Software Developer to help build, customize, and scale the systems that power our internal operations and client experience. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with the Zoho ecosystem, develop real-world automations, and support a fast-growing company serving veterans nationwide.
We’re seeking a technically curious developer with experience in Zoho platforms, Deluge scripting, and JavaScript who can build workflows, integrations, and data solutions that drive efficiency across the business. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across systems, and continuously improving processes through smart automation and scalable development.
Reporting Structure:Â Reports directly to Head of Technology
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom Zoho functions, workflows, automations, buttons, validations, modules, and business logic using Deluge scripting.
- Develop client-side enhancements with JavaScript for forms, widgets, dynamic UI behaviors, and custom views in Zoho Creator, CRM, and other apps.
- Optimize and create reports, dashboards, analytics views, and data visualizations to support data-driven decisions across departments.
- Implement and troubleshoot integrations within the Zoho suite (CRM, Books, Inventory, Desk, Flow, Marketing Automation, etc.) and with third-party systems using APIs, webhooks, Zoho Flow, invokeURL tasks, JSON handling, OAuth, etc.
- Handle email system integrations/support (e.g., Microsoft 365 setup, sync issues) and marketing tech connections (Zoho Campaigns/CRM to Google Analytics, Meta Ads, etc.).
- Perform data migrations, ETL processes, synchronization tasks, and scaling adjustments as the business grows.
- Execute daily system maintenance: health checks, updates, backups, patching, monitoring (heavy Zoho focus), and hybrid/cloud infrastructure tasks as assigned.
- Resolve end-user support tickets: troubleshoot hardware/software/network/access/email/Zoho application issues, prioritize/assign/escalate, meet SLAs, and contribute to reducing recurring problems.
- Assist with user access management, permissions, roles, MFA setup, and basic security/policy enforcement.
- Support procurement and vendor tools by testing/evaluating solutions and providing technical feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Contribute to documentation (SOPs, knowledge base articles) for implemented features and processes.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience administering and developing in Zoho platforms (One, CRM, Creator, Desk, Flow, etc.), with strong emphasis on custom work.
- Proficiency in Deluge scripting — able to independently write, debug, and maintain complex automations and functions.
- Solid JavaScript skills for client-side logic, form enhancements, and UI customizations.
- Practical experience with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, OAuth, integration platforms (Zoho Flow, Zapier), and basic data handling/migration.
- Familiarity with email systems (Microsoft 365/Google Workspace) and marketing tech integrations.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Zoho certifications (Deluge, CRM Admin, Creator, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Preferred: Exposure to SQL, HTML/CSS, basic cloud services, security basics, or agile workflows.
