JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lead Safety and Security Officer functions under the supervision of and in coordination with the Director of Guest Experience. This position is responsible for overseeing daily security operations, leading security personnel, and ensuring the safety of our premises, assets, guests, and staff. This role maintains a high-visibility presence while proactively preventing illegal or inappropriate actions. The goal is to detect, deter, observe, and report while delivering a safe, positive, and memorable experience for each guest.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, supervise, and direct Safety and Security Officers during events and venue operations.
  • Develop and manage security staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage based on event size, complexity, and risk level.
  • Maintain accurate records of all security personnel and track Tennessee Private Protective Services licensing to ensure full team compliance.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate assignments, expectations, and event-specific risks.
  • Develop and execute event-specific security plans, including staffing deployment, crowd control strategy, ingress/egress flow, and emergency response procedures.
  • Protect company property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure guest and staff safety through effective entry screening, inspections, and enforcement of venue policies.
  • Provide friendly and professional guest service, assisting with inquiries, directions, and event-related information.
  • Oversee and support crowd management efforts, including monitoring capacity and maintaining safe attendee flow.
  • Patrol the venue and surrounding areas and proactively identify risks.
  • Serve as the primary on-site responder for incidents and lead de-escalation efforts.
  • Coordinate with venue management, staff, and law enforcement as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and investigate incidents.
  • Complete and review incident reports.
  • Assist guests with special needs including ADA accommodations.
  • Escort individuals from the premises when necessary.
  • Perform first aid or CPR if required.
  • Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Three to five years of relevant security experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Private Protective Services Security Guard registration (license)
  • Must pass a criminal background check
