What You Will Do:

As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking an emerging Senior Transit Project Manager to support our Transportation Group in Metro Nashville, TN.Ā  This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 3 days of onsite office attendance.Ā 

Ā 

GFT is seeking a candidate with 15-20 years of experience in managing multi-disciplined teams for passenger rail and/or transit projects in Tennessee.Ā 

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for FTA/FRA funded projects involving Bus Facilities, Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail, Heavy Rail Rapid Transit, or Commuter Rail. PE RegistrationĀ required. AĀ BachelorĀ degree isĀ required, masters preferred, and progressive positions with major transportation agencies or consultants expected.Ā 

The positionĀ is responsible forĀ coordinating and reviewing the work of engineers and planners working in diverse disciplines to design and plan major transportation infrastructure. The position requires good verbal and writing skills and ability to successfully interact with clients and federal agency oversight. Work includes corridor planning, alternativesĀ analysisĀ NEPA documentation, project scheduling, and funding applications. Some travelĀ necessary.Ā

In this capacity, the successful candidate willĀ be responsible forĀ the following:Ā 

General duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Ā 

  • Serve as Project Manager with involvement in client development, projectĀ deliveryĀ and overall client satisfaction both locally and in other regions in support of company projects.Ā 
  • Responsible for overall supervision and quality of those projects assigned. Assure projects conform to the contractual agreements the firm has made to our clients.Ā 
  • AssureĀ projects are completed within theĀ allocatedĀ period of timeĀ and within the budget that has been assigned.Ā 
  • AssistĀ in business development goalsĀ establishedĀ for the firm.Ā 
  • Grow into a role to provide team leadership. Plan, organize, and supervise the work of staff.Ā 
  • EvaluateĀ progressĀ of the staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overallĀ objectives.Ā 
  • Mentor other employees to be able toĀ participateĀ in transit projects.Ā 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;Ā establishingĀ personal networks;Ā participatingĀ in professional societies.Ā 
  • EvaluateĀ progressĀ of the staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieveĀ overallĀ success.Ā 

Education | Experience:

WhatĀ you willĀ bring to our firm:  

  • Bachelor’sĀ degreeĀ civil engineering or planning fieldĀ required,Ā Master’sĀ preferred.Ā 
  • Minimum 15-20 years of management experience in the planning and design of transit/rail/ busĀ / facility infrastructure is desired.Ā 
  • Experience with transit projects ranging from planning/concept design/through project development is valuable.Ā 
  • Registration as a licensed PE or AICPĀ required.Ā 

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $170,000 -$210,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
