General Description of Position:

This position works directly with the production and service suppliers. Consistent compliance to Chaparral/Robalo policies, education of Suppliers to comply with those standards, and impartial treatment of suppliers are keys to success in this position.

Duties:

Use data to make decisions and drive continuous improvements across the supply chain
Responsible for the output performance of production suppliers or commodities that supply products to Chaparral/Robalo for production or service usage with minimal supervision
Provides on-going support to manufacturing for supplier improvements such as part quality, packaging, preservation, and delivery for production approved parts
Interfaces with all functional areas of the organization as needed to make resolution or improvements to the Suppliers’ product or processes
Develop and integrate Chaparral/Robalo internal Quality Management System and compliance

Education & Work Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Business, or Quality related field. Minimum, 5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer working with an Original Equipment Manufacturer, or 7 years combined experience working with such processes as Electronics, blow molding, injection molding, tube bending, engines, and assembly of critical components. Experience in PFMEA, A PQP, 3P 5why, PDCA, DOE, SPC, Cpk, Pareto, Fishbone, Histogram, Gage R&R, MSA, & audits. Must have proven success rate dealing with low volume suppliers and must be able to travel with very short notice both abroad and domestic. Boat building / Water Vehicle experience a plus, but not a requirement.

Environmental Conditions:

Works in office environment. Office environment has controlled temperature, humidity and noise levels. Effective near vision or near vision accommodation is required. Talking and hearing are required. Minimal bending, stooping, walking, and stair climbing are required as is lifting items of moderate weight. Chaparral/Robalo quality standards and safety rules and regulations are mandatory.

Travel:

Occasional travel is required. May visit dealers and suppliers concerning quality issues.
