Who You’ll Work With:
Direct reports: Billing Analysts (team of 2, with growth potential as scope expands)

External stakeholders: Private Wealth clients (billing inquiries, escalations), billing system vendors (e.g., Revport)
What You’ll Do:
Fee Calculation & Invoicing
Own the accuracy and integrity of investment management fee calculation and invoicing across a diverse and complex client book
Understand, manage, and model complex fee structures, including tiered schedules, householding/aggregation, breakpoints, and customized or negotiated billing arrangements
Serve as the firm's subject-matter expert on fee interpretation, advising on edge cases and non-standard arrangements
Team & Organizational Leadership
Manage, mentor, and develop the billing team, building a high-performing group with clear career paths and succession planning
Set the strategic direction and priorities for the billing function, aligning with broader Private Wealth operational goals
Act as a key voice in shaping how billing operations scale alongside firm growth
Business Process Controls & Governance
Design, implement, and continuously strengthen a formal control framework across the billing lifecycle — calculation, review, approval, invoicing, and adjustments
Establish documented policies, procedures, and control checkpoints to ensure audit-readiness and regulatory compliance
Own exception and override governance, ensuring appropriate approval and documentation for non-standard billing actions
Process Improvement & Automation
Lead a continuous improvement agenda for the billing function, identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual, error-prone processes
Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to improve fee calculation accuracy, accelerate invoicing cycles, and surface anomalies or billing risk proactively (e.g., AI-assisted contract/fee-schedule parsing, automated exception detection, intelligent reconciliation)
Partner with Technology/Operations teams to evaluate, pilot, and implement new tools and system enhancements, including upgrades to the core billing platform (e.g., Revport)
Develop robust AR Rollforward to manage the life-cycle of the client
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Financial Oversight
Partner with Cash Applications and Revenue Accounting to ensure fees are collected timely and recorded accurately in the financial statements
Own reconciliation of billed vs. collected fees, driving root-cause analysis and resolution of systemic discrepancies
Support month-end/quarter-end close and provide fee revenue insights to Finance leadership
Client & Advisor Support
Serve as the senior escalation point for complex billing inquiries and disputes from Wealth Advisors, sales associates, and clients
Build advisor and client confidence through clear, consultative communication on fee structures and billing decisions
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or billing operations, with meaningful experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial services
Demonstrated experience building or enhancing business process controls in a regulated financial environment
Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of developing and scaling teams
Advanced knowledge of billing systems, preferably Revport, and high proficiency in Excel; experience evaluating or implementing AI/automation tools in a finance or operations context strongly preferred
Strong ability to parse complex fee schedules, contracts, and financial data with high attention to detail
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
