We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across active commercial construction projects throughout the Nashville area. This field-based role is responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture by conducting regular jobsite inspections, ensuring OSHA compliance, identifying and correcting hazards, and working closely with project teams to maintain the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine safety inspections on commercial construction jobsites to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, recommend corrective actions, and verify timely resolution of safety concerns.
  • Partner with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to maintain safe work practices throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective action recommendations.
  • Deliver new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training to reinforce compliance and safe work habits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports, training records, incident reports, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Monitor high-risk construction activities including fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, cranes, heavy equipment, and electrical safety.
  • Serve as a visible safety leader by coaching field personnel and promoting continuous improvement in jobsite safety performance.
  • Stay current with OSHA regulations and industry best practices to ensure company-wide compliance.

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Associate's degree in Construction, Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline with 2+ years of commercial construction safety experience.
  • Professional safety certification such as CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent with 3+ years of commercial construction safety experience.
  • 4+ years of commercial construction experience with 3+ years in a dedicated construction safety leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and commercial construction safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting jobsite audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, clients, and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining accurate compliance documentation.
  • Ability to recognize hazards quickly and make sound decisions in active construction environments.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, accessing elevated work areas, walking uneven terrain, and working around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
