IT Site Technician 

Position Summary 

The IT Site Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of computer workstations, related hardware, software, and end-user technology across the facility. This role provides hands-on technical support to team members across multiple divisions, troubleshoots routine and complex technology issues, maintains equipment, supports software and hardware deployments, and helps enforce IT policies that protect company data and systems. The successful candidate will serve as a primary point of contact for employees experiencing computer or system-related problems. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, documentation, and customer service skills, along with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs. Some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide phone, email, and in-person support to resolve routine and complex computer, application, and equipment issues for team members across the organization.
  • Hardware and Software Maintenance: Install, configure, repair, and maintain laptops, tablets, PCs, phones, peripherals, antivirus tools, business applications, and other company-approved technology solutions. 
  • Security and Compliance: Help maintain a secure technology environment by following and enforcing company IT policies, supporting access controls, and promoting best practices for data protection. 
  • Process Tracking and Documentation: Record, track, and audit help desk requests, change control activities, and access request workflows to ensure issues are properly documented and resolved. 
  • End-User Training and Communication: Develop job aids, FAQ sheets, and user guidance materials; provide one-on-one coaching when needed; and communicate technology best practices clearly to employees.
  • Operational Support: Respond quickly to critical incidents or crisis situations to help restore normal facility operations as soon as possible. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on technology trends, tools, and standards, and recommend improvements that help the company maintain effective and reliable IT operations. 
  • Adaptability: Perform additional duties as business needs change and respond effectively to new standards, priorities, and management requests. 

Work Experience and Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience, including at least three years in a relevant IT support role, may be considered.  
  • Working knowledge of basic IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and related equipment. 
  • Experience supporting PC and server operating systems.  Extensive experience providing application support in a business environment. 
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities and troubleshooting tools. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to accuracy and process consistency. 
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with limited supervision. 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
