Your Opportunity

Our Transportation group provides our clients with comprehensive planning, project management, design, and engineering services for all phases of transportation projects. Your creativity will be applied to a variety of projects including urban and rural roadways, freeways and interchanges, multi-modal facilities, and alternative intersection designs. In addition,  you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting and meaningful transportation initiatives, including Complete Streets, Safety Improvements, Alternative Delivery Projects, Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) studies, and more! These projects are at the forefront of shaping safer, more sustainable, and more connected communities.  

This position comes with a high potential for growth into a leadership role at Stantec for our Transportation group in the State of Tennessee. This role has the ability to be on a hybrid work schedule if needed.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform as project manager, and/or technical specialist on roadway engineering projects, responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets.
  • Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to other engineering disciplines on transportation-related projects.
  • Prepare reports and develop planning documents.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand client’s needs.
  • Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project’s purpose and the client’s needs.
  • Produce detailed, high-quality design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
  • Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents.
  • Actively identify project pursuit opportunities, manage client relationships, develop new clients, and assist in the preparation of proposals to win those pursuits.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
