Job Description:
Scheduling and pre-creating all surgeries and tests ordered by surgeons during their clinics. Instructing patients in pre- surgical and pre-test preparation. Briefly helping patients understand financial responsibilities and how insurance deductibles and coinsurance work. Recording all facility-based charges. Maintaining a positive attitude and good working relationship with patients, doctors, coworkers, and facilities.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Assist physician to ensure maximum efficiencyÂ
Maintain adequate stock of medications and suppliesÂ
Keep rooms and equipment clean between proceduresÂ
Obtain lab test and other reports for physician reviewÂ
Schedule and Order testsÂ
Precert tests and surgeriesÂ
Obtain vital signs, ascertain seriousness of patient complaints, and begin appropriate measures and document in patient recordÂ
Collect, label and document lab specimensÂ
Triage Patient phone callsÂ
Provide physician instructionsÂ
Notify hospital or skilled nursing facility of physician ordersÂ
Schedule patients for tests and/or to other physician officesÂ
Contact patient of test results or surgeriesÂ
Contact pharmacy regarding orders/changes etc.Â
Perform other tasks as needed to assist physicianÂ
Current Medical Assistant License is preferred Â

Requirements and QualificationsÂ
Knowledge of Medications and effectsÂ
Ability to develop and communicate self-care programsÂ
Skill and Knowledge of various surgery equipment and surgery treatment proceduresÂ
Complete charts, charge tickets, review and verify Codes for physician chargesÂ
Maintain Quality OSHA Controls/HIPAA compliantÂ
Sterile techniques and processÂ
EKGÂ
Current LPN or current Medical Assistant License is preferred Â
