Job Summary

The Data Systems Manager II will serve as the team lead and project manager for College and Career Readiness data systems and strategic data initiatives within the Division of Strategy, overseeing a team of data analysts/architects responsible for building technical solutions. This position will lead strategic planning, project management, and execution of complex, districtwide data systems and initiatives from concept through implementation.This role requires a high-level systems thinker who can manage multiple large-scale projects, oversee budgets and resources, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned to Postsecondary Readiness priorities and broader district strategy. The position is accountable for end-to-end implementation, system effectiveness, and continuous improvement of data systems across the district.

What you will do

  • Lead, direct, and manage the work of data analysts/architects, including setting strategic priorities, delegating tasks, and ensuring alignment with district goals and timelines.
  • Serve as project manager for CCR and Strategy data initiatives, including strategic planning, project design, timeline management, and resource allocation across multiple complex initiatives.
  • Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and contract management, ensuring effective use of funds and alignment of vendor deliverables to district priorities.
  • Lead and coordinate engagement with school leaders and district stakeholders to assess needs, define priorities, and ensure systems align to operational workflows and decision-making needs.
  • Lead strategic planning and system design by analyzing how district initiatives, school practices, and data systems interact to drive outcomes.
  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships to drive adoption, alignment, and successful implementation across schools. Translate stakeholder needs into clear system requirements, project plans, and implementation strategies in coordination with data analysts/architects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee end-to-end implementation of data systems and strategic initiatives, including pilot design, testing, scaling, and districtwide rollout. Oversee development of implementation tools (playbooks, protocols, documentation) and ensure consistency and quality across teams.
  • Use data to drive strategic decision-making, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of systems and initiatives. Establish and manage feedback loops with data analysts/architects to improve system functionality, usability, and data quality.
  • Serve as the central lead coordinating work across technical, programmatic, and school-based teams. Lead coordination across departments to ensure alignment of data systems and initiatives with district strategy and priorities.
  • Manage integration of multiple platforms and initiatives, ensuring coherence across systems and user experience.
  • Plan and oversee professional learning and capacity-building efforts to ensure effective system use and data-informed decision-making.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field Required
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of applicable experience in data systems and/or project management Required
