Internship Description/Learning Objectives: Â | These positions will provide office support to core business areas throughout WeGo public transit such as Administration, Human Resources, Procurement, Customer care, IT, Communications, and Community Engagement. Interns will have an opportunity to participate in various internal and external meetings to gain exposure and understanding of the Davidson County and regional public transportation operation. |
Job Duties: Â | Duties may include but are not limited to answering telephone inquiries from the public, taking complaints, mailing schedules and other materials requested by the public, document filing and scanning, sorting equipment, data entry, writing blog post or other social media content and/or general office duties as needed. |

Work Schedule Days and Hours: Â | Monday-Thursday- 8:00 am-2:30pm |
Dress Code:  | Business Casual attire ONLY  (No denim pants of any color, sweatpants/sweatshirts, shorts, leggings, overalls, tank tops, sundresses, miniskirts, t-shirts, tennis shoes, flip flops, or beach shoes) |
Travel Required: Â | Travel is not required; however, students may visit different WeGo facilities within the Nashville area. |
Physical Requirements: Â | Drug test, background check, or vaccinations may be required. Background check required for interns 18 years or older |
Working Conditions: (example: Office Warehouse, Outdoors, with Children or Animals, etc.) Â | Office setting must be able to operate general office equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, printer, and copy machine |

The full program is June 1st – July 17th  Â
June 1st – June 3rd:  Interns attend work readiness skills training from 8am – 12pm.
June 4th:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Attend employer orientation meeting.
June 5th:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport
June 8th – July 17th:  Youth will report to their employer worksite location on Monday –Â
                    Thursday or special schedule workday at the timeÂ
                     scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work 6.5 hours daily
                   which equals 24 hours per week.

Friday Cohorts:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Youth report to cohort sessions at assigned locations at 8:00am to 12:00noon on Fridays.

If you are selected as a High School Intern, you will make $15.00 an hour and receive pre-program training and coaching to ensure you have the skills you need on the job. Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to all orientation, training, worksite, and cohort times. Please consider your transportation needs prior to applying for the High School Internship program.
