Job Description
The Rates Coordinator handles the coordination, implementation, and maintenance of firmwide billing rates for both timekeepers and client matters, as well as timekeeper billable hour goals. The Rates Coordinator will work closely with the Financial Pricing Team, the Financial Analysts, as well as the Finance and Capital Executive Partners, individual partners, legal process coordinators, and billing specialists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administration of the firm’s Financial System (Aderant Expert) hub and maintenance areas including but not limited to Timekeepers, Clients and Matters.
- Monitor and maintain Timekeeper rates and rate levels.
- Monitor and maintain Client/Matter Special Fee Arrangements.
- Monitor and maintain Timekeeper Billable Hour Goals.
- Ad Hoc reporting and analysis.
- Ad Hoc report generation.
- Monitor Invalid Cost Recovery System.
- Monitor New Client and matter set up including Rate Level Assignment.
- Monitor Financial Analysts and Finance Help Mailboxes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-3 years’ experience in a legal or professional services organization.
- Knowledge of Aderant Expert is considered a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong curiosity and interest in learning.
- A self-starter who is proactive and willing to take the initiative as well as work independently but also able to take direction.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Exceptional Excel skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
