Duration: Summer 2026 / June 1 – July 30, 2026

Department: Digital Licensing 

Work Environment: This position is a hybrid role with expectations for 3 days onsite and 1 day remote. 

POSITION SUMMARY: The intern will help the team on licensing and day-to-day operational needs, including lead generation, prospect validation, customer service, operations support and compliance review. The intern will also support the sales team by monitoring and responding to incoming inquiries from the department's email inbox and website submissions. Additionally, this position will help support our existing accounts with various tasks related to report requests and processing, general inquiries and account updates, as well as ad-hoc projects as needed. 

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

 

  • Create the 2026 Digital Trends Study, in collaboration with the NY intern, and present key findings to the Digital & Media Licensing team. 
  • Review list of current prospects and validate for license requirements. 
  • Review backlog prospect leads to determine current status and, if appropriate, create Music Use Memos and escalate to sales staff
  • Research and prepare brief "cheat sheets" to help managers prepare for licensing calls and other negotiations, including legal escalations. 
  • Assist in customer contact for monthly report requests, and research returned emails for new or updated contact information. 
  • Research and discuss digital consumption trends across generations (e.g., Baby Boomers, Gen-X, Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Alpha).
  • Salesforce: Ad Hoc duties related to reporting on current data, verification and clean-up, as well as system testing if/when applicable. 
  • Help identify accounts behind on reporting and follow-up as directed by management. 
  • Regular attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student. Must return to school in the Fall of 2026. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and organized
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in internet research, market intelligence and data collection/analysis
  • Strong research, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with CoPilot or other AI platform(s) preferred. 
  • Proficient in multiple Social Media platforms: existing and emerging
  • Comfortable with cross-generational collaborative environments
  • Preferred areas of study or interests: Business Administration, Music Business, Digital Media & Technology, Media & Communications or Pre-Law.
