Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Baptist Nassau in Fernandina Beach, FL. This is a full-time day shift opportunity. This role requires participation in on-call rotation with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay.

The Operating Room team at Baptist Nassau provides high-quality, patient-centered care. As a highly advanced community hospital serving coastal communities in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. This role is ideal for an experienced perioperative nurse who thrives in a team-oriented surgical setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
  • Include patients and families in developing individualized plans of care
  • Coordinate and prepare assigned operating room cases
  • Assess patient care needs and anticipate procedural requirements
  • Maintain patient safety and ensure accurate documentation throughout procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams

Registered Nurse Experience:

  • 2–3 years Surgical Services Experience (required)
  • Operating Room experience (required)
  • Hospital experience (required)
  • Charge Nurse or leadership experience (preferred)

Registered Nurse Education & Credential Requirements:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (preferred)

Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services. Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care. Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care. Responsibilities include knowledge of all areas of care to Gastroenterology and conscious sedation with ability to perform patient assessments pre/post procedure. This position requires call.
*Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care.
