This role is an exciting opportunity to support the HVACR Americas business. In this role, you will provide support to the Machining Operation through implementing and maintaining complex measurement equipment, monitoring process performance using data collection and statistical analysis tools. This position might expand to include supervision of quality support team members.  The Quality Engineer - Machining will coordinate new product development activities for customers both externally and internally. You will also report on improvement opportunities and initiatives in plant management review.

 

QUALITY TEAM LEAD - MACHINING YOU WILL:

  • Maintain and upgrade complex automated measurement equipment when applicable Active participation on the Tier 3 and 4 Lean daily meetings.

  • Implement and Maintain level 2 and 3 Quality standards and/or procedures affecting product quality.

  • Analytical skills, identify root cause analysis for complex problems using structured problem-solving techniques.

  • Perform process trend and statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Support initiatives to improve PPMs, process capabilities, cost of quality, etc.

  • Track, monitor and act to internal key metrics (internal ppm’s and scrap).

  • Direct day and night quality support team members engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning product or process quality

  • Active Participation in product tear down analysis for internal and customer returned parts.

  • Support internal customer complaints through implementing containment and driving the root cause analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with all housekeeping procedures and all quality and safety regulations.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, production, manufacturing engineering, or engineering technology and/or three years of manufacturing experience in machining environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for corporate training or meetings.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • ISO9001 Quality System knowledge.

  • Knowledge of operating and programming a CMM, GD&T, and ability to read and interpret international standards.

  • Experience in quality management, quality engineering, and lean manufacturing.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee would be required to: sit at a desk and work on a computer; navigate inventory areas to access components; have visual acuity to properly inspect and discern prints and components; have manual dexterity to handle components; lift up to 35 pounds at a time. Accommodations may be considered for those who have limitations. 

 

SCHEDULE:

The general working hours for this role are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Occasional after-hour work may be required.

Alliance Compressors LLC develops, manufactures, and markets one through six-ton scroll compressors. Scroll compressors are used in commercial and residential air conditioning units. The current facility is over 365,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 35,000 square feet of office space.
