Description

Position Summary

The Systems Analyst I is an hourly position that analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides basic guidance on software applications utilized throughout the NRMC organization. This associate works closely with business and clinical departments to understand their workflows and leverage available technology to enhance processes and the patient care experience.

Analyzes, troubleshoots and provides resolution, referral to vendor or recommendation to solve customer requests and/or issues regarding IT related support of e-MD software products. Assist customers or onsite information technology professionals with installation, upgrade, setup, and configuration of e-MDs software on the customer's network.


Primary Responsibilities

1. Performs or works with vendor/ 3rd party assistance in planning, installs and maintenance of all clinic e-MDs practice management systems.

2. Evaluates new updates, versions of changes and determines requirements and impact.

3. Analyzes factual information and possible solutions and makes independent judgments, decisions and recommendations.

4. Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives. Evaluates, optimizes, harmonizes and standardizes existing systems.

5. Maintain & Oversees system documentation. Monitors quality standards and ensures failure-free operation. Considers compatibility of different systems.

6. Solves a range of straightforward problems through knowledge and technical experience in own discipline with a moderate level of guidance.

7. Organizes and holds semi-annual user group meetings.

8. Implements and enforce security standards and ensures adherence to compliance standards.

9. Builds approved Users Accounts for all assigned systems.

10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

11. Assists in planning, refining and implementing projects.

12. Works with IT Director and vendors to manage, maintain and expand network architecture for designated systems.

13. Defines, documents, and maintains all systems and network segments.

14. Acts as focal point for identifying and reporting e-MDs technical issues to appropriate personnel.

15. Provides/coordinates resolution of issues while recommending procedures and controls for problem prevention for future like issues.

16. Responsible for thorough documentation within call tracking database and knowledge database to document work around or resolution of frequent incidents to enhance quality of problem resolutions for future incidents.

17. Aggressively manages personal workload related to open issues and requests for service to ensure agreed upon SLA's are met.

18. Demonstrates strong communication, human relationship skills, while maintaining and demonstrating good teamwork through actions and job performance.

19. Responsible for providing the technical skills and business knowledge necessary for continuous technological innovation, creative use and on-going support of the assigned systems and technologies.

20. Responsible for understanding the business and operational capabilities of the application.

21. Responsible for post-implementation support of applications and strategies that will further the organization's business and healthcare delivery success.

22. Required to work outside of normal working hours during on-call rotation or during significant outages.

23. May be required to work long hours during critical problems.

24. May be required to travel to perform duties.

25. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

1. Associate's degree or combined equivalent hands-on experience with at least one IT system/application.

2. Knowledge of various PC and Server operating environments

3. Possess an understanding of:

a. Problem solving/troubleshooting skills

b. Patience, strong customer service skills

4. Eagerness to learn


Preferred Education and Experience

1. Preferred experience supporting applications in the following settings;

a. Fluency in the Windows desktop productivity suite of applications

b. Knowledge of thin client application deployments

2. Preferred knowledge of database functionality required, experience with MS Access or SQL desired
