Description

The Sheraton Boston Needham Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual for the position of Catering Sales Manager. Candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational & communication skills; a strong proficiency in multi-tasking with hospitality sales experience.


The responsibilities of the Catering Sales Manager include but are not limited to:


路 Solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone/e-mail, solicitation, outside sales calls, virtual/site inspections and written communication

路 Ability to book new catering business and the ability to detail the events

路 Experience selling to a variety of market segments, focusing on the social market

路 Ability to work with the operation team to execute group, meeting, and social event business

路 Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize revenue. Meet sales goals through the development of new customers as well as nurturing existing client relationships

路 Ability to quote rates and availability to customers from catering leads alongside revenue management for optimal pricing

路 Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all hotel departments but also work independently

路 Assumes the responsibility for set-up and execution of events as needed

路 Works with client directly to form Banquet Event Orders allowing the group to accomplish their goals

路 Assist with other areas as assigned by the General Manager, Director of Sales, and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing

路 Ability to work with outside catering companies and local vendors to execute successful events

路 Ability to log all sales related activity in the sales software system

路 Ability to utilize onsite sales system- CI/TY and Lightspeed experience preferred to manage group reservations

路 Must be flexible with work schedule, including working events, lobby duty, BEO meetings etc



Preferred Skills-

路 Knowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems to include Lightspeed

路 Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet Explorer/Google Chrome

路 Well organized and detail oriented

路 Ability to work independently

路 Display initiative, perseverance and analytical skills

路 Effective communication

路 Professional and ethical

路 Displays enthusiasm

路 Excellent customer service skills

路 Team player and ability to get along with others

路 Available to meet guests which may include weekends

路 Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
