About The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning of database systems to ensure high availability and reliability.,Skills:
Five years plus of direct experience configuring, supporting, and maintaining SQL databases in Linux/Windows environments
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments
Perform database upgrades, patches, backups, and recovery operations
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency
Manage database security, user access, and roles
Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or other tools
Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues
Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies
Primary Responsibilities:
SQL Administration
Backup and Recovery of Relational Databases
Disaster Recovery Administration
Scripting and Departmental/end user Documentation
Collaborate with vendors and manage vendor relationships
Provide high level of trouble shooting, diagnostics, and repair support to Infrastructure and Security Team staff.
Provide deep support to service desk operations
Secondary Responsibilities:
Oracle Administration
Linux Administration
Virtualization Knowledge
Required Experience:
5 years’ IT database experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Education or Certifications desired:Â Â
Bachelors degree preferred in computer science or business administration with a computer science concentration, preferably with a minimum five years related experience, will accept Associate degree with equivalent experience
Database related certifications a plus
AWS certifications a plus
