We are seeking an innovative and hands-on Process & Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the design, development, programming, and optimization of production equipment and control systems. You’ll partner closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to drive reliability, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about using engineering expertise to positively impact production performance and employee experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the recommendation, design, development, installation, and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Assist with development and programming in the Foxboro Distributed Control System (DCS) and other PLC-based control systems.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with employees across the business.
  • Help develop and refine manufacturing process SOPs that maximize yield while meeting customer quality and delivery expectations.
  • Recommend, implement, and communicate continuous improvement projects within the engineering department.
  • Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Effectively coordinate and manage engineering activities to support company goals.
  • Demonstrate actions and behaviors consistent with Galloway’s culture and values.
  • Actively support the Food Safety Management System and employee safety initiatives through adherence to policies, procedures, audits, and meetings.
  • Apply Galloway-specific engineering best practices to daily work.
  • Implement process improvements related to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal teams through all phases of process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on support for the Distributed Control System.
  • Deliver access to data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and control system monitoring.
  • Work flexible hours as needed, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Participate in after-hours call‑in support on a rotating basis.
  • Foster and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented work environment.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
  • Experience with DCS/PLC systems; Foxboro experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
