Position Overview

The Warehouse Lead (Las Vegas Blvd) will provide direction and support to Warehouse personnel in the absence of the Warehouse Shift Supervisor.  This will include the daily monitoring of the dock and warehouse activity and routine personnel issues.  Continuously supports Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy. This position is non-exempt.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
  2. Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  3. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  4. Provides all forklift training in accordance to OSHA standards and requirements.
  5. Communicate routinely to Shipping leaders, Customer Service, and Planners to maintain adequate inventory levels and storage of raw materials and supplies.
  6. Support Shipping management, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to requirements and policies.

 

Additional duties of the Warehouse Lead are listed below but not limited to: 

  1. Arrive all Drivers for the Finished Goods or Raw Materials.
  2. Assign Driver Doors and Lift Operators to loads.
  3. Maintain the dock flow.
  4. Assign and check orders and print labels.
  5. Communicate and instruct employees regarding work assignments.
  6. Collaborate with other leads and supervisors.

 

Other duties may include:

  1. Perform or assist warehouse team as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  2. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  3. Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
Associates Degree or High School Diploma with minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Tools and Equipment:

Use of the Forklift, yard dog, bar code scanners, computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment. Proficiency with Excel and Exposure to SAP or other MRP system preferred. 

 

Language Ability:                                                                    
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shipping/warehouse and inventory requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.  Communication skills are essential.

 

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)

Sense of Sound (within normal range) and touch

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
