The Disassembly & Reassembly Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and assessing vehicles for additional or hidden damage. Once the vehicle is ready, the technician will reassemble the vehicle.Â
Â
Job Requirements:Â
Follow the company blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicle inspectionsÂ
Disassemble vehicles after the initial estimate, inspect all vehicles for internal structure and parts from the initial inspection (estimate), and identify additional damageÂ
Complete disassembly of the vehicle to assist estimators in assessing damage to prepare a 100% repair planÂ
Document and record additional damage and required parts on a damage report (including blend panels, small parts, on-time use fasteners, moldings, etc.).Â
Notify the production manager/estimator regarding supplements based on additional damage/parts discoveredÂ
Assist the metal technician with reassembly upon completion of the repair, as neededÂ
Perform light non-structural repairs – light finishing, sanding, minor bumper repairs, etc.Â
Reassemble vehicle – replace final moldings, trim, and detail piecesÂ
Perform assigned duties safely and responsibly that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injuryÂ
Other duties as assignedÂ
Â
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:Â
At least one year of auto body repair experience Â
Must be at least 18 years of ageÂ
HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferredÂ
Ability to effectively communicate with othersÂ
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work ordersÂ
Multi-tasking; adapt easily to fast-paced environmentsÂ
Â
Physical Requirements:Â
Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel and pullÂ
Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairsÂ
Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)Â
Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipmentÂ
Performing repetitive motionsÂ
