2nd Shift:Â 6:00PM - 6:00AM - 3/2/2 Schedule
Pay Rate:Â $22.00 to $30.75/hr (based on facility maintenance and repair experience)
The primary role of the facility technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency and maintenance of the Building/Grounds and support equipment.Â
Knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices
All team members must abide by all of Burke's Plant Safety Rules!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains tool room equipment regarding plates, knives and blades; performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and physical structures, and on the plumbing, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems; Ensures safe and optimum functioning equipment; systems, and processes utilizing prior facility maintenance and repair experience.Â
- Performs set up/tear down of process equipment daily.Â
- Facility rounds to inspect and record various repairs needed.
- Inspects facility safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems to insure compliance is always maintained.
- Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of one (1) year of hands‑on experience in facility maintenance and repair required
- Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.Â
- Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)Â
- Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment a plus
- Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills, manual dexterity, and ability to maintain a rapid pace for extended periods
- Self-motivation and team attitude essential
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and have the physical ability to do the following tasks for extended periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing up steps and using ladders
- Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license
