2nd Shift: 6:00PM - 6:00AM - 3/2/2 Schedule

Pay Rate: $22.00 to $30.75/hr (based on facility maintenance and repair experience)

The primary role of the facility technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency and maintenance of the Building/Grounds and support equipment. 

Knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices

All team members must abide by all of Burke's Plant Safety Rules!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains tool room equipment regarding plates, knives and blades; performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and physical structures, and on the plumbing, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems; Ensures safe and optimum functioning equipment; systems, and processes utilizing prior facility maintenance and repair experience. 
  • Performs set up/tear down of process equipment daily. 
  • Facility rounds to inspect and record various repairs needed.
  • Inspects facility safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems to insure compliance is always maintained.
  • Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company.  This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of hands‑on experience in facility maintenance and repair required
  • Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions) 
  • Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment a plus
  • Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills, manual dexterity, and ability to maintain a rapid pace for extended periods
  • Self-motivation and team attitude essential
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and have the physical ability to do the following tasks for extended periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing up steps and using ladders
  • Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
